PENGARUH RASIO MOLAR ALKYD RESIN BERBASIS PALM FATTY ACID DISTILLATE (PFAD) TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK MATERIAL

Alkyd resin merupakan produk polimer yang banyak digunakan dalam industri cat, coating, dan pembuatan film. Hal ini dikarenakan keunggulan sifat – sifatnya sebagai surface coating meliputi fleksibilitas, kekuatan durabilitas, serta adhesi baik. Penelitian membuat alkyd berbasis palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) urea formaldehide terbutilasi dengan variasi rasio molar butanol 0,5-3 mgrek/mgrek. Hasil analisa sisa gugus hidroksil dari masing yaitu 2,990 - 25,295 mgrek/g sampel. Semakin mol maka semakin sulit untuk menjadi polimer. kemudian direaksikan menggunakan katalis asam oksalat tanpa katalis. uji kepadatan didapat pada perbandingan 1:0,5 1:1 1:2 didapatkan 2:1 %massa terjadi curing time 1,67 jam hasil sebesar 4,83 jam. Sedangkan 6,43 9,41 bahan pelapis cepat timenya.
