Pelvic organ prolapse and uterine preservation: a cohort study (POP-UP study)

Abstract Background Abdominal and laparoscopic sacro-colpopexy (LSC) is considered the standard surgical option for management of a symptomatic apical pelvic organ prolapse (POP). Women who have their uterus, whom an LSC indicated, can sacro-hysteropexy (LSH), supra-cervical hysterectomy sacro-cervicopexy (LSCH + LSC) or total (TLH LSC). The main aim this study was to compare clinical patient reported outcomes uterine sparing versus concomitant procedures. Methods A retrospective analysis clinical, imaging at baseline, 3 12 months after LSH either LSCH TLH between January 2015 2019 in tertiary referral urogynecology center Pilsen, Czech Republic. Results In total, 294 women were included (LSH n = 43, 208 43). Conclusion seems be associated with failures suboptimal based on postoperative techniques compared hysterectomy.
