Image is a multimedia component rich in information and has an essential role as provider. However, the images encountered often experience decrease quality, such defects or noise, causing conveyed from these less clear. Noise causes image to be too contrasted, blurry, not sharp enough. One type of noise contrast noise. Smoothing here one operations improve quality which aims smooth out with unbalanced Disturbances are generally form variations intensity pixel that correlated neighboring pixels. Contrasting caused by uneven lighting, can cause reduced difficult interpret. For this reason, improvement must made get better image. In study, softening contrasting uses Gaussian Filter method. This filter effect equalizing gray distance make obtained smoother. Based on results tests, it got accuracy 83.3%, meaning application's performance suitable for smoothing.
