Peer-led literacy: a prison library’s collaboration with the Shannon Trust

This case study interrogates the delivery of Shannon Trust literacy programme in a men’s category B London prison (HMP Wandsworth). includes an exploration libraries’ collaboration with Trust, and how library staff practically facilitate programme; from selecting prisoners to become mentors, finding willing learners, collecting feedback. also looks at some challenges faced by prison-based Library Information Science (LIS) professionals when delivering such as this. The concludes set recommendations for other LIS considering context.
