چکیده

We present the Democratic Samples of Supernovae (DSS), a compilation 775 low-redshift Type Ia and II supernovae (SNe & II), which 137 SN distances are derived via newly developed snapshot distance method. Using objects in DSS as tracers peculiar-velocity field, we compare against corresponding reconstruction from 2M++ galaxy redshift survey. Our analysis -- takes special care to properly weight each subcatalogue cross-calibrate relative scales between them results measurement cosmological parameter combination $f\sigma_8 = 0.390_{-0.022}^{+0.022}$ well an external bulk flow velocity $195_{-23}^{+22}$ km s$^{-1}$ direction $(\ell, b) (292_{-7}^{+7}, -6_{-4}^{+5})$ deg, originates beyond reconstruction. Similarly, find $245_{-31}^{+32}$ toward (294_{-7}^{+7}, 3_{-5}^{+6})$ deg on scale $\sim 30 h^{-1}$ Mpc if ignore reconstructed field altogether. constraint $f\sigma_8$ tightest SNe date (considering only statistical error bars), one utilise is broadly consistent with other literature. intend for our data accumulation treatment techniques become prototype future studies that will exploit unprecedented volume upcoming wide-field surveys.

Cosmology with Type Ia supernovae

Since 1998 (Riess et al. 1, Perlmutter et al. 2), surveys of cosmologically distant Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) have indicated an acceleration of the expansion of the Universe, distant SNe Ia being dimmer that expected in a decelerating Universe. With the assumption that the Universe can be described on average as isotropic and homogeneous, this acceleration implies either the existence of a fl...

Cosmology with type-Ia supernovae

I review the use of type-Ia supernovae (SNe) for cosmological studies. After briefly recalling the main features of type-Ia SNe that lead to their use as cosmological probes, I briefly describe current and planned type-Ia SNe surveys, with special emphasis on their physics reach in the presence of systematic uncertainties, which will be dominant in nearly all cases.

Cosmological constraints from type ia supernovae peculiar velocity measurements.

We detect the correlated peculiar velocities of nearby type Ia supernovae (SNe), while highlighting an error in some of the literature. We find sigma8 = 0.79 +/- 0.22 from SNe, and examine the potential of this method to constrain cosmological parameters in the future. We demonstrate that a survey of 300 low-z SNe (such as the nearby SNfactory) will underestimate the errors on w by approximatel...

Type Ia Supernovae and Cosmology

I discuss the use of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) for cosmological distance determinations. Low-redshift SNe Ia (z < ∼ 0.1) demonstrate that the Hubble expansion is linear with H0 = 72 ± 8 km s −1 Mpc, and that the properties of dust in other galaxies are generally similar to those of dust in the Milky Way. The light curves of high-redshift (z = 0.3– 1) SNe Ia are stretched in a manner consisten...

Models for Type Ia Supernovae and Cosmology

From the spectra and light curves it is clear that SNIa events are thermonuclear explosions of white dwarfs. However, details of the explosion are highly under debate. Here, we present detailed models which are consistent with respect to the explosion mechanism, the optical and infrared light curves (LC), and the spectral evolution. This leaves the description of the burning front and the struc...
