Peanut Response to Flumioxazin and S-Metolachlor Under High Moisture Conditions

چکیده
ABSTRACT Georgia produces nearly 51% of the United States peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) crop. To combat and prevent weed infestations, herbicide programs containing flumioxazin S-metolachlor are often applied preemergence (PRE). Despite effectiveness for control, injury following heavy rainfall can be problematic. The objective this study was to evaluate impact from after simulated events on growth yield. Plots were planted at University Ponder Research Farm located near Ty Ty, using conventional tillage practices twin-row spacing. Treatments included PRE applications 0, 0.11 0.22 kg ai/ha alone or in combination with 1.07, 1.40, 2.80 a CO2-pressurized backpack sprayer. Irrigation ≥20 cm 30 days planting (DAP) simulate rainfalls. Flumioxazin caused greatest visual (>60%) most whole-plant fresh weight/m reductions 21 DAP compared other treatments. Peanut density not impacted by S-metolachlor. Neither nor affected J-rooting. Yield reduced any rate flumioxazin. However, kg/ha, (2.6X field rate), yields 8.9% plots where no recommended rates applied.

Physiological Response of Quinoa to Nitrogen Application under Salinity Conditions
Salinity stress is one of the major abiotic stresses which injures plants by limited water absorption and nutrient imbalance and limits crop growth. In order to study the effect of nitrogen fertilizer on physiological traits of quinoa at high salt concentrations, a greenhouse experiment was conducted in a factorial arrangement based on a randomized complete block with three replications in 2019...
متن کاملSoil moisture and metolachlor volatilization observations over three years.
A 3-yr study was conducted to focus on the impact of surface soil water content on metolachlor (2-chloro-N-(2-ethyl-6-methylphenyl)-N-(2-methoxy-1-methylethyl) acetamide) volatilization from a field with different surface soil water regimes created by subsurface water flow paths. Metolachlor vapor fluxes were measured at two locations within the field where local meteorological and soil conditi...
متن کاملReaction of Peanut Cultivars to Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV) Under Field Conditions and Their Response to Mechanical Inoculation by TSWV Under Greenhouse Conditions
Spotted wilt virus disease caused by Tomato spotted wilt tospovirus (TSWV) has become a limiting factor in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) production in the Southwest region of the U.S. Selected peanut cultivars (Okrun, Southwest Runner, Tamrun-98, Tamrun-96, Georgia Green, Tamrun OL-02, Tamrun OL-01, and Georgia Hi Oleic) were evaluated for reaction to TSWV in field plots in 2001, 2002, and 2003....
متن کاملDetermination of Effective Moisture Diffusivity and Activation Energy for Drying of Powdered Peanut Shell under Isothermal Conditions
In this study, the effect of drying temperature, from 50 °C to 90 °C, on the drying characteristics of powdered peanut shell was investigated, and an isothermal procedure was used to determine the moisture diffusivity and the activation energy. All the experiments were performed using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) for rapidly achieving the isothermal condition and accurately recording the ...
متن کاملAdsorption of arsenic on soil under different soil moisture conditions
The adsorption study was conducted on three Japanese soils with different soil properties to characterize the adsorption pattern of Arsenic (As). Double tube method was used to find out the effect of soil moisture levels on As adsorption. For this study, besides double tube method, conventional batch method also was used. The As adsorption showed two phase kinetics. An initial and rapid adsorpt...
