Pathological and biological effects of treatments with lambda-cyhalothrin in rabbits

Lambda-cyhalothrin (LCT) is a type II pyrethroid insecticide, which widely used to control large variety of agricultural pests throughout the world as well in Algeria. The aim this study was investigate effects LCT exposure on body weight, hematological and blood biochemical parameters evaluate histopathological changes some organs. Twelve (12) healthy local rabbits with mean weight 1.8 kg were divided into three groups four each: First group kept (CTRL), second (LCT 10) third 20) given oral at 10 20 mg/kg b.w, respectively times week for 25 days. results showed no significant difference between groups. Blood analysis revealed variation hemogram LCT-treated group. Serum increase (P˂0.05) total cholesterol content glucose LCT10 LCT20, respectively. Total protein increased significantly (P˂0.0001) While very high activity asparatate aminotranferase (AST) recorded both treated groups, change observed alanine aminotransferase (ALT). treatment exhibited severe liver, kidney, lung brain. It concluded from that produced serious toxic pathological alterations metabolic dysfunctions rabbits.
