Among pancreatic cystic lesions, mucinous neoplasm (MCN) and intraductal papillary (IPMN) of the pancreas are precursor lesions adenocarcinoma. IPMN is characterized by proliferation mucin-producing epithelial cells that exhibit various degrees dysplasia. classified as main duct type (MD-IPMN), mixed branch (BD-IPMN) according to location involvement, into four histological subtypes (gastric, intestinal, pancreatobiliary, oncocytic) histomorphological immunohistochemical characteristics. Most patients with MD-IPMN undergo tumor resection due moderate high risk malignancy. Patients BD-IPMN who do not may develop malignant change, concomitant separate cancer occurs in 2-10% IPMN. should careful surveillance including endoscopic ultrasound sonography for early detection change cancer.
