Pathogen infection in Alzheimer’s disease: pathophysiology and therapeutic strategies

نویسندگان

چکیده

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease, which characterized by deposition of senile plaques composed amyloid-β (Aβ) and neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) hyperphosphorylated tau. Currently, underlying cellular molecular mechanisms AD are still unclear. Growing evidence suggests that pathogen infections prominently promote development pathology. In this article, we reviewed effect multiple infectious pathogens contribute to pathogenesis. Pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, fungi detected in brains patients known be able pathology, including Aβ formation tau tangles. Here, summarized pathogen-associated provided new insight into anti-infection remedy for AD.

Biofilms in chronic rhinosinusitis: Pathophysiology and therapeutic strategies

Background There is increasing evidence that biofilms are critical to the pathophysiology of chronic infections including chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Until relatively recently, our understanding of biofilms was limited. Recent advances in methods for biofilm identification and molecular biology have offered new insights into the role of biofilms in CRS. With these insights, investigators have...

Diabetic Kidney Disease: Pathophysiology and Therapeutic Targets

Diabetes is a worldwide epidemic that has led to a rise in diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Over the past two decades, there has been significant clarification of the various pathways implicated in the pathogenesis of DKD. Nonetheless, very little has changed in the way clinicians manage patients with this disorder. Indeed, treatment is primarily centered on controlling hyperglycemia and hyperten...

White Matter Injury after Intracerebral Hemorrhage: Pathophysiology and Therapeutic Strategies

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) accounts for 10%-30% of all types of stroke. Bleeding within the brain parenchyma causes gray matter (GM) destruction as well as proximal or distal white matter (WM) injury (WMI) due to complex pathophysiological mechanisms. Because WM has a distinct cellular architecture, blood supply pattern and corresponding function, and its response to stroke may vary from th...
