Particle tracking velocimetry in liquid gallium flow around a cylindrical obstacle

This paper demonstrates particle tracking velocimetry performed for a model system wherein particle-laden liquid metal flow about cylindrical obstacle was studied. We present the image processing methodology developed detection in images with disparate and often low signal- contrast-to-noise ratios, application of our MHT-X tracing algorithm trajectory reconstruction within wake obstacle. Preliminary results indicate that utilized methods enable consistent recovery long, representative trajectories high confidence. However, we also underline necessity implementing more advanced position extrapolation approach increased accuracy. show particles exhibit Stokes number range suggests good accuracy, time scales extracted from reconstructed are expectations based priori estimates.
