PARANORMAL BELIEFS AS PREDICTORS OF MALADAPTIVE EMOTIONAL SCHEMAS IN YOUNG ADULTS WITH FUNCTIONAL NEUROLOGICAL SYMPTOM DISORDER

There is severe threat of permanent impairment in young adults due to the effect life stressors which bring cognitive and emotional downfall leading functional neurological symptom disorder. The aim this research was measure paranormal beliefs along maladaptive schemas patients with disorder through structural equation modelling IBM SPSS (AMOS 26) analysis. Psychodynamic functions hypothesis theory applied describe role were carried by suffering from mysterious ailment. A purposive sample 134 participants between 14 years 24 has been chosen administer questionnaires RPBS (Tobacky, 2004) LESS-II (Leahy, 2002) assess respectively. final results showed that two-factor model 10 items better fit a seven factors 26 RPBS. In model, index demonstrated good (X2=645.623, P<0.05, GFI=0.798, CFI=0.949, NFI=0.846, TLI=0.972, RMSEA=0.038, CMIN/df=1.407). It also great convergent validity share approximately 30% variance. concluded positively significantly related and, only belief psi highly predicted symptoms patients. outcomes provide strong support for clinical purpose focus on patient’s perception during therapeutic approaches.
