چکیده

The work is devoted to parametric investigations of the krypton flow in a conical micronozzle when flowing into region with low pressure. features flows are studied at various values stagnation pressure pre-nozzle volume, including occurrence condensed phase flow. Mathematical modeling was carried out on basis numerical solution complete system Navier-Stokes equations, supplemented by equation for mass fraction condensate. mathematical model takes account change coefficients dynamic viscosity and thermal conductivity depending gas temperature. problem solved control volume method block-structured regular grid quadrangular elements using schemes second order accuracy. equations were integrated respect time Runge-Kutta method. calculations pressures 5, 10, 15 atm single-phase two-phase flows. distribution fields temperature Mach number nozzle space behind it presented. axial pressure, temperature, has been studied. It shown that case flow, self-similarity observed. similar, but dimensionless form they coincided each other. In this case, identity velocity observed different violated zone formation particles. dimensions zones local increase, as well intensity heat release, depend given which reflected characteristics

developing turbulent flows in rectangular channels: a parametric study

the developing turbulent flow in an open channel is a complex three-dimensional flow influenced by the secondary currents and free surface effects and is, therefore, not amenable to analytical solution. this paper aims to study the impact of three key hydraulic parameters (relative roughness, the froude number and the reynolds number) on the establishment length using computational fluid dynami...

Parametric instability in oscillatory shear flows

In this article we investigate time-periodic shear flows in the context of the twodimensional vorticity equation, which may be applied to describe certain large-scale atmospheric and oceanic flows. The linear stability analyses of both discrete and continuous profiles demonstrate that parametric instability can arise even in this simple model: the oscillations can stabilize (destabilize) an oth...

Stochastic parametric resonance in shear flows

Time-periodic shear flows can give rise to Parametric Instability (PI), as in the case of the Mathieu equation (Stoker, 1950; Nayfeh and Mook, 1995). This mechanism results from a resonance between the oscillatory basic state and waves that are superimposed on it. Farrell and Ioannou (1996a, b) explain that PI occurs because the snapshots of the velocity profile are subject to transient growth....

Design considerations for supersonic micronozzles

The next-generation of small satellites (‘nanosats’) will feature masses <10 kg and require miniaturised propulsion systems capable of providing extremely low levels of thrust. The emergence of viscous, thermal and/or rarefaction effects on the micro-scale can significantly impact the flow behaviour in supersonic micronozzles resulting in performance characteristics which differ substantially f...

Geometric curve flows on parametric manifolds

Planar geometric curve evolution equations are the basis for many image processing and computer vision algorithms. In order to extend the use of these algorithms to images painted on manifolds it is necessary to devise numerical schemes for the implementation of the geodesic generalizations of these equations. We present efficient numerical schemes for the implementation of the classical geodes...
