Parametric Experimental Study of Ultra-Short Stud Connections for Lightweight Steel–UHPC Composite Bridges

چکیده

This paper reports on double shear push-out tests conducted steel-to-ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) connections based studs of 30- or 22-mm diameter in slabs 35, 55, 150 mm thickness. The results show that with an increase stud diameter, the longitudinal strength has improved by 25% and 94% for ultra-short long (of aspect ratios below equal to 4.0), respectively. For short studs, both ratio cover greatly influenced failure partial fracture UHPC pryout, while governed behavior studs. Decreases thickness caused resistance drop 40% 7%, respectively, Regression analyses strength, slip stiffness, ductility are exponential, sinusoidal, polynomial functions, ratio. stud–UHPC 62% stiffer than their normal counterparts. Future work should entail fatigue testing connections.

A Parametric Study: Frame Analysis Method for Masonry Arch Bridges

The predictability of masonry arch bridges and their behaviour is widely considered doubtful due to the lack of knowledge about the conditions of a given masonry arch bridge. The assessment methods for masonry arch bridges are MEXE, ARCHIE, RING and Frame Analysis Method. The material properties of the masonry and fill material are extremely difficult to determine accurately. Consequently, it i...

Lightweight Parametric Polymorphism for Oberon

Strongly typed polymorphism is necessary for expressing safe reusable code. Two orthogonal forms of polymorphism exist: inclusion and parametric, the Oberon language only supports the former. We describe a simple extension to Oberon to support parametric polymor-phism. The extension is in keeping with the Oberon language: it is simple and has an explicit cost. In the paper we motivate the need ...

Cyclic Behavior of Cold-Formed Steel Stud-to-Sheathing Connections

This series of experiments aims to characterize the cyclic behavior of cold-formed steel (CFS) stud-to-sheathing connections. This connection provides the key energy dissipating behavior in wood sheathed CFS shear walls, and provides bracing to the studs under gravity and out-of-plane loads. A simple testing rig is developed consisting of two CFS lipped channels facing toe-to-toe connected on t...

Study of MgB2 ultra-thin films in submicron size bridges

We discuss a custom built hybrid physical chemical vapour deposition (HPCVD) system for MgB2 ultra-thin film deposition: construction, deposition process development, and optimization. Achieved films on SiC substrates have a critical temperature (Tc) ranging from 35K (10nm thick films) to 41K (40nm thick films). The 20nm thick unpatterned film had a room temperature resistivity of 13μΩ·cm, wher...
