Parameters estimation of a steady-state wind farm wake model implemented in OpenFAST

Wake models play a fundamental role in predicting loads and power generated by wind farms. Using them, it is possible to assess how wakes develop interact with each other what are the effects context of real operating farm. In this paper, Gaussian Model implemented OpenFAST validated against experimental data gathered tunnel GVPM @ Politecnico di Milano European CL-Windcon project. The software used reproduce mechanical dynamics G1 turbines OpenFAST. It coupled FLORIS, NREL’s based on Model, that allows simulate wake partial conditions. rotor aerodynamics calculated using BEMT actual flow field.
