PARAFAC modeling of dandelion phenolic compound fluorescence relation to antioxidant properties

نویسندگان

چکیده

The phenolic compounds in dandelion were extracted using different ethanol percentage solutions, identified with HPLC-MS, and their scavenging capabilities of DPPH, ABTS OH radicals determined. Then the excitation-emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy coupled parallel factor analysis (PARAFAC) was conveyed to analyze relationship between phenolics, components scores PARAFAC model antioxidant capacities, based on linear regression method. results showed that relative content chicoric acid, esculetin, caffeic gallic acid monohydrate, eupatilin, acid-3-glucoside, corchorifatty F, luteolin higher than 0.5%, extraction solutions 100% 75% water had a better capacity radicals. Two comparatively sum squares, core consistency values, lower interactions numbers, established equations indicated component capacities ABTS. paper proposed for first time might be treated as useful indication evaluation.

Antioxidant properties of phenolic compounds

The addition of synthetic antioxidants to oils and/or foods is one of the most efficient ways to prevent lipid oxidation. However, the safety of synthetic additives has been questioned stimulating the evaluation of naturally occurring compounds with antioxidative properties. Although there is no assurance of the safety of natural antioxidants, there is some comfort knowing that such antioxidant...

Antioxidant properties and quantitative UPLC-MS/MS analysis of phenolic compounds in dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) root extracts

Prolonged exposure to metabolically derived reactive oxygen species (ROS) can cause an imbalance between radical species and in vivo physiological antioxidant defences. As a result, ROS have the potential to bind and irreversibly oxidise nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and DNA.1 Failure to repair or remove these oxidised molecules may lead to cellular dysfunction and mutation, wh...

Antioxidant and Antiradical Properties of Selected Flavonoids and Phenolic Compounds

Phenolic compounds and flavonoids are known by their antioxidant properties and one of the most important sources for humans is the diet. Due to the harmful effects of synthetic antioxidants such as BHA and BHT, natural novel antioxidants have become the focus of attention for protecting foods and beverages and reducing oxidative stress in vivo. In the current study, we investigated the total a...

Phenolic Constituents and Antioxidant Properties of some Thai Plants

Thai plants have been used as medicines for many centuries because they contain active phytochemicals including phenolic compounds. These components function as antibiotics, help to make cell walls impermeable to gas and water, act as structural materials to give plants stability and provide protection against ultraviolet (UV) light. Hence, plants in the tropical zone including Thailand contain...
