چکیده

Objectives: There have been no large studies that directly compare long term outcomes in patients with Rockwood grade III-V acromioclavicular (AC) joint separations treated acute vs. chronic repair. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to post-operative between who undergo high-grade AC surgery acutely (<6 weeks) vs chronically (>6 weeks). Methods: A list all from 2010-2019 obtained medical records. Chart review conducted determine patient demographics, time injury surgery, grade, and surgical technique, as well complications surgery. Post-operative American Shoulder Elbow Surgeons (ASES) Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE) scores were also collected via RedCap. Patient radiographic retrospectively reviewed by reviewing preoperative, immediate postoperative, follow-up AP views operative shoulder measuring coracoclavicular (CC) interval distance. Loss reduction defined a change greater than 5 mm radiographs measurement. Several multivariate analyses ASES, SANE, CC distance interest order account for demographic differences groups. Results: Overall, 225 (113 acute, 112 chronic) included an average 3.5±2.8 years, age 40±15 86% being male. Patients group underwent 2 ± 1 weeks after initial while 42 35 injury. Significant age, BMI, technique utilized, pre-operative observed groups (all p<0.05) (Table 1). Rates revision, loss reduction, infection, fracture, total complication rate, ASES did not differ had lower rate (1.8mm v. 3.2mm, p=.044), larger decrease at latest compared pre- operatively (11.8mm 9.0mm, p =.002), better SANE (85.5 75.5, p=.032). All other post- After controlling confounding variables such sex, analysis found female male patients, significantly relate score, or 2). Conclusions: similar Multivariate affect scores, [Table: see text][Table: text]
