چکیده

Background: Acute pancreatitis (AP) presents as acute abdomen, Inflammatory process of pancreas associated with local and systemic complications. Many scores (such Ranson’s, APACHE II, Bedside index for severity in AP) that help us predicting at the time admission, but these are consuming require complex calculation not economically cheap. Our aim here is to analyze simplified stratification system PANC3 SCORE its assessment AP decided by Modified Marshall Score. Aims Objectives: PANC-3 score pancreatitis. Materials Methods: Scoring simple, easy access readily available economic, it involves criteria (hematocrit, body mass index, pleural effusion). It a prospective study which 100 patients were evaluated Scoring, who diagnosed admitted department general surgery, Mysore Medical College Research Institute. Results: The results showed had 96.25% specificity, 70% sensitivity, 82.35% positive predictive value, 92.77% negative value. Conclusion: cost effective, can be determined thus early prediction disease referral higher center.

Assessment of PANC3 Score in Predicting Severity of Acute Pancreatitis

INTRODUCTION Acute pancreatitis is inflammatory process of the pancreas associated with local and systemic complications. At present, there are lots of scores (such as Ransons, APACHE II, bedside index for severity in acute pancreatitis) that help us in predicting severity at the time of admission but these are time consuming or require complex calculation and are costly. MATERIAL AND METHODS...

A comparison of the BISAP score and serum procalcitonin for predicting the severity of acute pancreatitis

BACKGROUND/AIMS The bedside index of severity in acute pancreatitis (BISAP) is a new, convenient, prognostic multifactorial scoring system. As more data are needed before clinical application, we compared BISAP, the serum procalcitonin (PCT), and other multifactorial scoring systems simultaneously. METHODS Fifty consecutive acute pancreatitis patients were enrolled prospectively. Blood sample...
