Pan-Resistome Insights into the Multidrug Resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii

چکیده
Acinetobacter baumannii is an important Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen that responsible for many nosocomial infections. This etiologic agent has acquired, over the years, multiple mechanisms of resistance to a wide range antimicrobials and ability survive in different environments. In this context, our study aims elucidate resistome from A. strains based on phylogenetic, phylogenomic, comparative genomics analyses. silico analysis complete genomes was carried out identify genes involved phylogenetic relationships grouping sequence type. The presence genomic islands containing most gene repertoire indicated high plasticity, which probably enabled acquisition formation robust resistome. displayed open pan-genome revealed still constant genetic permutation among their strains. Furthermore, suggest specific profile within species throughout its evolutionary history. Moreover, current performed screening characterization main present resistome, can be used applied research develop new therapeutic methods control bacterial pathogen.

Multidrug-Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii
To understand the epidemiology of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Acinetobacter baumannii and define individual risk factors for multidrug resistance, we used epidemiologic methods, performed organism typing by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), and conducted a matched case-control retrospective study. We investigated 118 patients, on 27 wards in Israel, in whom MDR A. baumannii was isolated fr...

Acinetobacter baumannii is a species of nonfermentative gram-negative bacteria commonly found in water and soil. This organism was susceptible to most antibiotics in the 1970s. It has now become a major cause of hospital-acquired infections worldwide due to its remarkable propensity to rapidly acquire resistance determinants to a wide range of antibacterial agents. Here we use a comparative gen...

Acinetobacter baumannii is an opportunistic pathogen, causing infections mainly in patients in intensive care units where the extensive use of antimicrobial agents can select for the emergence of multiresistant strains. In fact, since strains resistant to all antimicrobial agents have been reported, A. baumannii is considered the paradigm of multiresistant bacteria. Both acquired and intrinsic ...
