Pain Management after Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy by Intraperitoneal Bupivacaine

Aim: To compare the effectiveness of 0.5% bupivacaine spray on gallbladder at end surgery with no in reducing postoperative pain within first 24 hours. Study design: Randomized Controlled Trial Place and duration: The study was conducted Department General Surge,Combined Military Hospital, Rawalpindi, from 23 July 2018 to 22 January 2019, after receiving approval ethics review board. Method: A total 62 patients underwent laparoscopiccholecystectomy. Indications were symptomatic gallstones (such as dyspepsia, right hypochondrium, eating fatty meals). patient age group between 20-60 years. Patients includedAcutecholecystitis, choledocholithiasis, pancreatitis bile leakage during surgery. However pregnant females co-morbidities not included. Informed consent taken all patients.At laparoscopic cholecystectomy, Group infused into depression a standard weight 2mg/kg, but B did receive local anaesthetic. Postoperative assessed scored both groups 0 10 6 hours using VAS (Visual Analogue Scale). Result: mean 38.23±8.13 years, B, 38.74±6.64 Most 35 (56.54%) 20 40 years age. Among patients, 35(56.54%) male 47(75.81%) female. So male-to-female ratio is 1:3.2. Efficacy (0.5% bupivacaine) (70.97%) (intervention group) 11 (35.48%) (control (p-value = 0.005).
