P223 The usefulness of tissue calprotectin in pediatric Crohn’s disease – a pilot study

Abstract Background Fecal calprotectin (FCP) is a highly sensitive biomarker of intestinal inflammation widely used in diagnostics and monitoring inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, it cannot be to localize the activity its levels may false negative or positive some cases. The aim this study was evaluate tissue (TCP) pediatric patients with Crohn’s (CD) correlate FCP clinical disease. Methods Fifty-seven CD at median age 10.5 (1-17) years (yrs) were examined for fecal calaprotectin. Values correlated histopathological changes patients’ endoscopic biopsies. Disease assessed using Pediatric Activity Index (PCDAI), measured ELISA test immunohistochemical (IHC) staining antigen performed on bioptic samples from 6 segments number TCP cells counted per high power field (HPF). Non-parametric statistical tests data analysis. Results Patients’ PCDAI score 10 (0-63.5), while 535 (30-600) ug/g. only observed correlation between level activity. There no associated neither TCP, nor PCDAI. Conclusion Tissue unlike does not seem good predictor Polish CD.
