چکیده
Based on the random phase approximation calculation in two-orbital honeycomb lattice model, we investigate pairing symmetry of Ni-based transition-metal trichalcogenides by electron doping access to type-II van Hove singularities (vHs). We find that chiral even-parity d + id-wave (Eg) state is suppressed odd-parity p ip-wave (Eu) when approaches vHs. The vHs peak density states (DOS) enables strengthen ferromagnetic fluctuation, which responsible for triplet pairing. competition between antiferromagnetic and fluctuation results transition from singlet provide a promising platform unconventional superconductor emerging electronic DOS.

van Hove singularities and vortex motion in superconductors
When vortices move in a type-II superconductor under the action of an electric current, they interact with the crystal lattice generating acoustic waves. This results in a radiation-friction component to the vortex dissipation, which peaks at values of vortex velocity where there are phonons in the Brillouin zone of the crystal with matching phase and group velocities ~the van Hove condition!. ...
متن کاملObservation of Van Hove singularities in twisted graphene layers
Electronic instabilities at the crossing of the Fermi energy with a Van Hove singularity1 in the density of states often lead to new phases of matter such as superconductivity2,3, magnetism4 or density waves5. However, in most materials this condition is difficult to control. In the case of single-layer graphene, the singularity is too far from the Fermi energy6 and hence difficult to reach wit...
متن کاملObservation of van Hove Singularities in Twisted Silicene Multilayers
Interlayer interactions perturb the electronic structure of two-dimensional materials and lead to new physical phenomena, such as van Hove singularities and Hofstadter's butterfly pattern. Silicene, the recently discovered two-dimensional form of silicon, is quite unique, in that silicon atoms adopt competing sp(2) and sp(3) hybridization states leading to a low-buckled structure promising rela...
متن کاملQuantum Monte Carlo Evidence for d-wave Pairing in the 2D Hubbard Model at a van Hove Singularity
We implement a Quantum Monte Carlo calculation for a repulsive Hubbard model with nearest and next-nearest neighbor hopping interactions on clusters up to 12 × 12. A parameter region where the Fermi level lies close to the van Hove singularity at the Saddle Points in the bulk band structure is investigated. A pairing tendency in the dx2−y2 symmetry channel, but no other channel, is found. Estim...
متن کاملSuper-collimation with high frequency sensitivity in 2D photonic crystals induced by saddle-type van Hove singularities.
Using detailed numerical simulations, and theoretical modeling, we predict a new super-collimation operation regime which is very sensitive on frequency. This operation regime is predicted to exist in 2D photonic crystals of dielectric rods in low index media. We explain the physical origin of this operation regime, as well as discuss how it could be of interest for implementation of low-power ...
