چکیده
Gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) is the 16th most common cancer in UK and has a 5-year survival rate of 20.7%. GastroPanel (Biohit Oyj; Helsinki, Finland) an ELISA kit that measures four plasma biomarkers: Pepsinogen I (PGI), II (PGII), Gastrin 17 (G17) Helicobacter pylori IgG antibodies (Hp IgG), for detection atrophic gastritis (AG). PGI PGI/PGII ratio correlates inversely with severity chronic have been shown to accurately identify patients at risk GAC.This clinical validation study assessed diagnostic accuracy detecting AG among consecutive dyspeptic referred gastroscopy single centre. Two hundred sixty-eight (Females = 151 (56.3%); Median age 57 (range 39-92 years) underwent biopsy histology according updated Sydney system (USS). Blood (plasma) samples analysis were collected index testing[M1]. results interpretation was performed using GastroSoft Oyj, app. [M1]GP test reference (gold standard) Overall agreement between USS classification 90% (95%CI=86.7-93.8%), weighted kappa (κw) 0.828 (95%CI=0.781-0.865). In ROC analysis, moderate/severe corpus (AGC2+) as endpoint, AUC=0.840 (95%CI 0.630-1.000) 0.960 0.907-1.000) ratio, respectively. precise triage test, capable distinguishing functional dyspepsia who can be safely followed up treated conservatively, from those high developing GAC whom mandatory.

Prevalence of atrophic gastritis in dyspeptic patients in Piedmont. A survey using the GastroPanel test.
BACKGROUND Chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) is a precursor of the intestinal type of gastric cancer, the second leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. GastroPanel is a recently marketed serological kit for the non-invasive diagnosis of CAG, defined by some authors "even more reliable than biopsy histology". The goal of this study was 1) to evaluate the agreement between the serum gast...
متن کاملAccuracy of GastroPanel for the diagnosis of atrophic gastritis
BACKGROUND It has been suggested that GastroPanel might be a useful tool for the diagnosis of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) measuring four biomarkers in blood: basal gastrin-17 (G17), pepsinogen I and II (PGI and PGII), and Helicobacter pylori antibodies. AIM To determine the accuracy of GastroPanel for the diagnosis of CAG. METHODS This was a prospective, blinded, multicenter study that...

I read with great interest the recently published article by Balihar et al. [1] in which the authors aimed to characterize epidemiology and clinical manifestations of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) in a Czech tertiary care center and to identify risk factors of fulminant course. They concluded that severe CDI was identified in 15.8% of patients. Moreover, they identified risk factors for...

Tests of vitamin B(12) absorption in three patients gave normal results, no gastric autoantibodies were detected in the two patients tested, in all patients histological examination of the gastrectomy s...
