P-087 LAPAROSCOPIC TREATMENT OF TROCAR SITE HERNIA: A SINGLE-CENTER EXPERIENCE

Abstract Introduction Trocar site hernia (TSH) is a complication of minimally invasive surgery that often underestimated. These lesions cause patient discomfort and require for their correction. Although there are some case reports laparoscopic repair TSH, data missing in the literature about this specific topic. The aim study to evaluate safety efficacy TSH. Methods We collected regarding 213 patients submitted incisional Department General Surgery at Humanitas Mater Domini Clinical Institute Italy since 2011 2019. selected TSH with an intraperitoenal mesh. evaluated clinical surgical characteristics following outcomes: post-operative hospitalization, complications long-term recurrences. Discussion Forty-two out were operated Forty 42 (95.2%) treated approach. Follow up: 60 months. Study group: females (62.5%), mean BMI 29.1. According EHS (European Hernia Society) classification, 35 had midline defect. In 77.5% cases ePTFE/PP mesh was implanted. Mean hospitalization: 2 nights. rate low (1 infection, 1 seroma hematoma), without re-intervention. observed recurrence (5%) developed after 5 months 36 months, respectively. Conclusions Laparoscopic safe approach, absence contraindications. Our experience suggest approach could obtain satisfying results.
