چکیده
Abstract Study question Does sperm reactive oxygen species values affect the pregnancy rate after Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)? Summary answer Sperm and can be used as a predictive marker for IUI outcome. What is known already Oxidative stress resulting from excessive production of (ROS) profoundly subsequent functional integrity. Diagnostics to measure semen oxidative have been added 6th edition WHO laboratory manual examining processing human semen, under advanced examinations. Although analysis has classically gold standard determining man’s fertility, basic alone cannot accurately predict infertility since between 6 27 % men with normal parameters are infertile. Determination in diagnosing may contribute better outcomes. design, size, duration This study was based on analyses 50 male patients whose samples were treatment November 2022 January 2023. The oxidation-reduction potential measured using novel galvanostat-based technology, MiOXSYS System. Briefly, 30 μL liquefied at room temperature applied sensor. Both absolute ORP (mV) normalized sORP ( mV/10 sperm/ml) concentration calculated. Participants/materials, setting, methods performed according criteria (Sixth 2021). All participants followed period 3–5 days sexual abstinence had diagnosis unexplained (normozoospermia). Ovarian stimulation cycle initiated 5th day menstruation by recombinant gonadotropins. Clinical determined Beta-hCG values. For statistical comparison group Mann-Whitney U test used. Main results role chance According guidelines World Health Organization, all included BMI (21.85±3.80 kg/m2). average age female 33.9 ± 3.1 years while 37.8 4.8 years. Out patients, 32% (N = 16) got pregnant. propose compared Statistical showed significant difference Patients positive outcome lower value where not successful [25.65 [6.7-52.6] mV vs. 40.2 [6.3-109.8] mV, respectively, p 0.02]. Additionally, (sORP) also significantly different those groups [ 0.37(0.17-1.44) sperm/ml 0.88(0.13-20.81) sperm/ml, respectively 0.006]. Due above-mentioned logistic regression performed, obtained confirm that (p 0.02) well 0.016) affects procedure. Limitations, reasons caution limitation presented relatively small patient cohort. beta hCG values, therefore future research should link live birth well. Wider implications findings In present suggests an additional parameter diagnostic identify best therapeutic approach concerning couples show minimal or no impairments parameter. P-122: Sperm Intracellular Reactive Oxygen Species Incidence in Ram Fed A Diet with Fish Oil
Background: Basal level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is essential for sperm acrosomal reaction, hyperactivation, motility, capacitation and fertilization. Ram spermatozoa contain large quantities of polyunsaturated fatty acids in their plasma membranes so are extremely susceptible to ROS induced damage. Materials and Methods: Eight rams (36 ± 5 month of age and with a weight of 64 ± 7 kg) w...
متن کاملP-67: Reactive Oxygen Species, MDA and NO Concentration of Testicular Extract and Their Effect on Sperm Parameters and IVF Outcome in Hyperprolactinemic Adult Male Mice
Background: ROS are free radicals that have a significant role in many of the sperm physiological processes. In the presence of polyunsaturated fatty acids such as sperm plasma membrane,ROS triggers a chain of chemical reactions called lipid peroxidation. The aim of this study was to determine and compare the concentration of MDA and NO in testicular extract of hyperprolactinemic adult male mice...
متن کاملP-148: Predictive Factors for Pregnancy after Intrauterine Insemination: A Retrospective Study of Factors Affecting Outcome
Background: Controlled ovarian hyper stimulation (COH) in conjunction with intrauterine insemination (IUI) is frequently used to treat various causes of infertility in couples. In this study we evaluate the relation between IUI outcomes and infertility with the intent to detect the most important parameters that pertain to a successful IUI. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, ...
متن کاملThe effect of human immunodeficiency virus on sperm parameters and the outcome of intrauterine insemination following sperm washing.
BACKGROUND This is the first study to assess the outcome of sperm washing and intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles in human immunodeficiency virus-positive (HIV(+)) men to determine any predictors of success, as well as evaluating the effect of HIV on sperm parameters. METHODS Semen characteristics were evaluated in 106 HIV(+) men and a control group of 234 HIV(-) men, and the effect of mar...
متن کاملSperm Concentration on the Intrauterine Artificial Insemination in Swine
The aim of this work was to evaluate the efficiency of the intrauterine insemination (IUI) in swine, considering the conception rate, farrowing rate, litter size (alive born pigs). For the IUI, the females had been insemination at 24 and 48 hours after the estrus detection, and the inseminating doses of 500 million, 1 billion, 1.5 billion and 2 billion spermatozoa in 20 mL extender had been use...
