Oxygen redox chemistry in lithium-rich cathode materials for Li-ion batteries: Understanding from atomic structure to nano-engineering

Lithium-rich oxide compounds have been recognized as promising cathode materials for high performance Li-ion batteries, owing to their specific capacity. However, it remains a great challenge achieve the fully reversible anionic redox reactions realize capacity, stability, and low voltage hysteresis lithium-rich materials. Therefore, is critically important comprehensively understand control chemistry of materials, including atomic structure design, nano-scale engineering technologies. Herein, we summarize recent research progress with focus on chemistry. Particularly, highlight oxygen-based in metal oxides, critical views designing next generation oxygen lithium Furthermore, purposed most strategies improving performances technology-spectrum from scale nano-scale.
