Overview of Predictive Control Technology for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Systems

Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) are commonly used in the automation industry. With speedy development of digital system processors, predictive control as a modern scheme has been applied to improve dynamic performance and work efficiency PMSMs. This paper provides an overview research status PMSM-based strategies. The deficiencies three most popular schemes, deadbeat control, finite-control-set model continuous-control-set existing improvement strategies such delay compensation robust multi-vector summarized. Finally, current technological trends discussed, emphasizing future directions for PMSM drive systems.
