Overview of Antibacterial Strategies of Dental Implant Materials for the Prevention of Peri-Implantitis

As dental implants have become one of the main treatment options for patients with tooth loss, number peri-implant diseases has increased. Similar to periodontal diseases, been associated plaque formation on implants. Unconventional approaches reported remove from infected implants, but none these methods can completely and permanently solve problem bacterial invasion. Fortunately, constant development antibacterial implant materials is a promising solution this situation. In review, study different strategies prevention peri-implantitis are summarized. We hope that by highlighting advantages limitations antimicrobial strategies, we assist in continued oral materials.
