Over-the-Air Computation via Broadband Channels

چکیده
Over-the-air computation (AirComp) has been recognized as a low-latency solution for wireless sensor data fusion, where multiple sensors send their measurement signals to receiver simultaneously computation. Most existing work only considered performing AirComp over single frequency channel. However, network with massive number of nodes, channel may not be sufficient accommodate the large sensors, and performance will very limited. So it is highly desirable have more channels large-scale systems benefit from multi-channel diversity. In this letter, we propose an ${M}$ -frequency system, each selects subset frequencies broadcasts its signal these under certain power constraint. We derive optimal sensors’ transmission receiver’s processing methods separately, develop algorithm joint design achieve best performance. Numerical results show that increasing one can improve by threefold compared single-frequency case.

Broadband Phase Spectroscopy over Turbulent Air Paths.
Broadband atmospheric phase spectra are acquired with a phase-sensitive dual-frequency-comb spectrometer by implementing adaptive compensation for the strong decoherence from atmospheric turbulence. The compensation is possible due to the pistonlike behavior of turbulence across a single spatial-mode path combined with the intrinsic frequency stability and high sampling speed associated with du...
متن کاملOver-the-Air Computation in MIMO Multi-Access Channels: Beamforming and Channel Feedback
Future Internet-of-Things (IoT) networks are expected to wirelessly connect billions of sensors. It is impractical to collect data from the massive population of sensors using any traditional orthogonal multi-access scheme that leads to excessive latency. To tackle the challenge, a technique called over-theair computation (AirComp) was recently developed to enable a data-fusion to receive a des...
متن کاملReliable Computation over Multiple-Access Channels
In the standard multiple-access problem, a central access point needs to reconstruct the signals observed by each user separately. Suppose now that the access point only reconstructs the sum (or any other function) of these observed signals. For this problem, we develop strategies and information-theoretic performance bounds. It is shown that in general, separating source from channel coding le...

متن کاملOver-the-air Function Computation in Sensor Networks
Many sensor applications are interested in computing a function over measurements (e.g., sum, average, max) as opposed to collecting all sensor data. Today, such data aggregation is done in a cluster-head. Sensor nodes transmit their values sequentially to a cluster-head node, which calculates the aggregation function and forwards it to the base station. In contrast, this paper explores the pos...
