چکیده
BackgroundThe benefit of rotator cuff repair (RCR) in patients with concurrent osteoarthritic changes remains unclear. RCR has the theoretical potential to increase compressive force across glenohumeral joint, further exacerbating osteoarthritis pain. The purpose this study is investigate pain relief and patient-reported outcomes undergoing simultaneous microfracture focal osteoarthritis.MethodsThirty-four were retrospectively reviewed at a minimum 1-year follow-up. Patient demographics, preoperative range motion, functional (visual analog scale [VAS], Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation [SANE], American Shoulder Elbow Surgeons Standardized Form [ASES], Simple Test [SST]), operative metrics recorded. then contacted obtain postoperative outcome scores (VAS, SANE, ASES, SST).ResultsTwenty-seven (11 male/16 female [79%]) evaluated mean follow-up 25.8 months (range, 12-46). average age surgery was 64.9 years 56-78). Chronic tears more common than acute (57.7% vs. 42.3%). majority had full tear (89%) involving 1.7 ± 0.8 tendons 1-3). Eighty-eight percent humeral lesions Outerbridge 4 compared 84% on glenoid. estimated involvement between 2 groups 38.4% 18.4% head involved 34.6% glenoid involved. PRO improved postoperatively reduction VAS (6.6-2.0, P < .01), SANE (33.8-79.8, ASES (38.0-80.9, SST (3.07-9.70, .01) scores. Cumulatively, only 52% (14/27) improved, however, by MCID for all collected PROs.ConclusionsOur results demonstrate modest improvements cohort who have undergone microfracture. In cases small full-thickness cartilage loss, reasonable treatment option; should be counseled expectations accordingly. osteoarthritis. Thirty-four SST). Twenty-seven PROs. Our

Arthroscopic repair of complete tear of rotator cuff
Abstract Background: Rotator cuff tear is one of the most common causes of shoulder complaints in the elderly. Based on the severity and patient's condition, a variety of methods applies to manage the tear and surgery is an important method, which could be done by open or arthroscopic technique. The current study aimed to investigate and report short-term results of arthroscopic repair of...

BACKGROUND Although a number of reports have documented outcomes after open revision rotator cuff repair, there are few studies reporting results after arthroscopic revision. HYPOTHESIS Arthroscopic repair of failed rotator cuff results in significant improvement in shoulder functional outcome and pain relief. STUDY DESIGN Case series; Level of evidence, 4. METHODS Multiple variables incl...

متن کاملRotator Cuff Tear Consequent to Glenohumeral Dislocation.
The patient was a 21-year-old collegiate running back who was tackled during a football game and sustained a posterior glenohumeral dislocation. He was referred to an orthopaedist and presented 3 weeks after the injury, and, following examination, further imaging was ordered by the orthopaedist due to rotator cuff weakness. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a complete tear of the supraspinatus ...
