چکیده

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes and dose-volume parameters of computed tomography CT-based brachytherapy for vaginal recurrence uterine cancer after hysterectomy. Methods: We evaluated 22 patients treated with between December 2010 August 2015. Interstitial (ISBT) was used when tumor thicker than 5 mm and/or located at extended extravaginal tissue, whereas intercavitary performed if it or thinner. Results: Overall, 11 had cervical cancer, endometrial cancer. The median pretreatment size on magnetic resonance imaging 17 (range, 0–45 mm). Four recognized only in gynecological examination. primary location vagina, extension observed 9 patients. Seventeen (77%) received external beam radiotherapy brachytherapy. ISBT 12 (55%). target volume (CTV) D90 69.2 Gy (62.6–72.8 Gy). D2cc bladder, sigmoid, rectum were 70.2 (63.8–77.6), 37.4 (30.0–43.6), 52.8 (38.6–63.5 Gy), respectively. Complete response reached all 5-year overall survival rate local control (LC) 84.8 95.5%, No patient experienced grade ?3 complications. Conclusions: has potential become an essential treatment recurrences hysterectomy as can achieve good LC without increasing late complications selected less recurrences.

Computed tomography–based image-guided brachytherapy for cervical cancer: correlations between dose–volume parameters and clinical outcomes

This study evaluated the oncologic outcomes and complications of cervical cancer patients in terms of CT-based image-guided brachytherapy (IGBT) parameters. Of 68 cervical cancer patients treated with definitive radiotherapy/concurrent chemoradiotherapy, most received whole-pelvis external beam RT (EBRT) of 40 Gy in 20 fractions, pelvic EBRT with central shield of 10 Gy in 5 fractions, and CT-b...

Resection of the vaginal vault for vaginal recurrence of cervical cancer after hysterectomy and brachytherapy

BACKGROUND We describe our experiences with vaginal vault resection for vaginal recurrence of cervical cancer after hysterectomy and radiotherapy. After operative treatment, the rate of vaginal vault recurrence of uterine cervical cancer is reported to be about 5%. There is no consensus regarding the treatment for these cases. METHODS Between 2004 and 2012, eight patients with vaginal vault r...

Validation of computed tomography-based attenuation correction of deviation between theoretical and actual values for four computed tomography scanners

Objective: In this study, we aimed to validate the accuracy of computed tomography-based attenuation correction (CTAC) using the bilinear scaling method. Methods: The measured attenuation coefficient (μm) was compared to a theoretical attenuation coefficient (μt ) using four different CT scanners and an RMI 467 phantom. The effective energy of the CT beam X-rays was calculated, using the aluminu...

Computed tomography-guided permanent brachytherapy for locoregional recurrent gastric cancer

BACKGROUND Locoregional recurrence is the typical pattern of recurrence in gastric cancer, and cannot be removed by surgery in most of the patients. We aimed to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of computed tomography (CT)-guided brachytherapy for patients with locoregional recurrent gastric cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS We reviewed the case histories of 28 patients with locoregional recu...
