Oscillations in gas-grain astrochemical kinetics

چکیده
We have studied gas-grain chemical models of interstellar clouds to search for nonlinear dynamical evolution. A prescription is given producing oscillatory solutions when a bistable solution exists in the gas-phase chemistry and we demonstrate existence limit cycle relaxation oscillation solutions. As autocatalytic processes underlying these are common all chemistry, occurrence should be widespread. briefly discuss implications interpreting molecular cloud composition with time-dependent some future directions this approach.

Reaction and Some Astrochemical Implications
We explore the energetics of the titular reaction, which current astrochemical databases consider to be open at typical dense molecular (i.e., dark) cloud conditions. As is common for reactions involving the transfer of light particles, we assume that there are no intersystem crossings of the potential energy surfaces involved. In the absence of any such crossings, we find that this reaction is...
متن کاملMolecular gas phase counterparts to solid state grain mantles features: implication for gas/grain chemistry
We present ISO SWS (AOT6) observations of the protostellar object RAFGL 7009S. This source is particularly interesting for the characterisation of chemistry arising from grain surfaces andmantles, since the solid state features ofmany simple molecules such asH2O,CO,CO2, CO2 andCH4 are detected, together with weaker features not yet unambiguously identified. Gas phase H2O, CO2, CH4 and CO can al...
متن کاملFormation Kinetics of Structure H Gas Hydrate
This paper investigates the kinetics of structure H (sH) formation kinetics above and below the structure I (sI) formation equilibrium curve at temperatures of between 2°C and 6°C. Methane was used as a help gas and methylcyclohexane (MCH) was used as sH former. It was concluded that in the points above the sI formation equilibrium curve, at the first, the sI forms, and then converts to sH be...
متن کاملRelativistic Kinetics of Phonon Gas in Superfluids
The relativistic kinetic theory of the phonon gas in superfluids is developed. The technique of the derivation of macroscopic balance equations from microscopic equations of motion for individual particles is applied to an ensemble of quasi-particles. The necessary expressions are constructed in terms of a Hamilton function of a (quasi-)particle. A phonon contribution into superfluid dynamic pa...
متن کاملMemory effects and oscillations in single-molecule kinetics.
An exactly solvable model for single-molecule kinetics is suggested, based on the following assumptions: (i) A single molecule can exist in different chemical states and the random transitions from one chemical state to another can be described by a local master equation with time-dependent transition rates. (ii) Because of conformational and other intramolecular fluctuations the rate coefficie...
