OsAAP3 Gene Mutation Promotes the Chalkiness Character in Rice

Rice chalkiness is one of the most important appearance quality traits and has a great impact on its processing quality, nutritional cooking, eating traits. It theoretical significance application value to clarify genetic mechanism rice chalkiness. To reveal relationship between OsAAP3 mutant shape, structure arrangement endosperm cells starch grains, which will lay foundation for further research formation character cultivation new high-quality varieties. The results showed that chalkiness, rate, area significantly increased compared with control ZH11, there were significant variations in arrangement, morphology, cross-section grain distribution rice: white heart increased, belly almost distributed edge whole cross-section. chalky part transparent also have obvious structure, but no difference grains non-chalky rice. center are well developed, abdomen back loosely arranged, poorly developed.
