The article is devoted to the consideration of role military priests during World War I. starting points are assertions that with arrival Christianity on territory Russia, state power received a powerful tool patriotic education, motivation and stimulation for processes defending civil position hostilities various years in opposition an external enemy, mechanism calling not only intelligentsia, but also ordinary citizens soldiers fight Motherland, family, Russian land. However, today among modern researchers there no single point view regarding clergy I, opinions about importance this historical period differ dramatically.
