Orientational Sampling Schemes Based on Four Dimensional Polytopes
The vertices of regular four-dimensional polytopes are used to generate sets of uniformly distributed three-dimensional rotations, which are provided as tables of Euler angles. The spherical moments of these orientational sampling schemes are treated using group theory. The orientational sampling sets may be used in the numerical computation of solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, an...
متن کاملDesigning Sampling Schemes for Multi-Dimensional Data
In this work, we propose a method for determining a non-uniform sampling scheme for multi-dimensional signals by solving a convex optimization problem reminiscent of the sensor selection problem. The resulting sampling scheme minimizes the sum of the Cramér-Rao lower bound for the parameters of interest, given a desired number of sampling points. The proposed framework allows for selecting an a...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Classical Groups Acting on Polytopes
Let V be a 3-dimensional vector space over a finite field. We show that any irreducible subgroup of GL(V ) that arises as the automorphism group of an abstract regular polytope preserves a nondegenerate symmetric bilinear form on V . In particular, the only classical groups on V that arise as automorphisms of such polytopes are the orthogonal groups.
متن کاملFour-dimensional signalling schemes - Application to satellite communications
In satellite communications both polarizations of an electromagnetic wave are used to transmit two separate signals. These two independent signals can be merged to form one dual-polarization, four-dimensional signal. The present article pursues this idea and proposes different signal constellations to be used for four-dimensional signalling in satellite links. Analytical methods and simulations...
متن کاملHigher dimensional blue-noise sampling schemes for curvelet-based seismic data recovery
In combination with compressive sensing, a successful reconstruction scheme called Curvelet-based Recovery by Sparsitypromoting Inversion (CRSI) has been developed, and has proven to be useful for seismic data processing. One of the most important issues for CRSI is the sampling scheme, which can greatly affect the quality of reconstruction. Unlike usual regular undersampling, stochastic sampli...
