چکیده
Abstract The Anti-Atlas contains a thick, volcanic-free Ordovician succession that originally deposited in passive-margin basin. Three main sedimentary packages are bounded by major unconformities: (i) the Tremadocian–Floian Lower Fezouata and Upper formations, which unconformably overlie palaeorelief of Cambrian rifting volcanosedimentary complexes, subsequently topped Dapingian paraconformable gap; (ii) Darriwilian–Katian Tachilla Formation First Bani Ktaoua groups, latter overlain Hirnantian glaciogenic succession; (iii) Second Group, infilled former palaeorelief. Due to scarcity carbonate interbeds for etching analyses, leading rare references conodonts, global chart is interpolated on basis microphytoplancton (acritarchs chitinozoans), regional graptolites brachiopods. counter-clockwise rotation Gondwana led its Moroccan margin from mid- high-latitude positions, onset siliciclastic, wave- storm-dominated platform. Flooding surfaces marked shelly silty reflect episodic development echinoderm–bryozoan meadows during Katian times; areas protected siliciclastic input, they reached massive bedded bioaccumulations (Khabt-el-Hajar Formation). glaciation controlled incision numerous tunnel channels, with both alluvial fluvial sediments glaciomarine diamictites. was definitively sealed Silurian times.

the co, ni, cr and s mineralisations during serpentinization process in the bou azzer ore deposits (anti-atlas, morocco)
the serpentinization of the harzburgitic mantle section of the bou azzer neoproterozoic ophiolite is studied by field mapping, structural observations, optical micrography, sem and x-ray diffractometry, and relationships with co, ni, cr and sulphides minerals are discussed. serpentinization occurred in two major steps with, i) intra-oceanic pseudomorphic serpentinization materialized by the iso...
متن کامل14. Oxygen Isotope and Sapropel Stratigraphy in the Eastern Mediterranean
Stable oxygen isotope data from four holes drilled at the Ocean Drilling Program Site 967, which is located on the lower northern slope of the Eratosthenes Seamount, provide a continuous record of Eastern Mediterranean surface-water conditions during the last 3.2 Ma. A high-resolution stratigraphy for the Pliocene–Pleistocene sequence was established by using a combination of astronomical calib...
متن کاملOrdovician paleomagnetism of eastern Yunnan, China
Three magnetic components have been isolated in Ordovician formations of the Yangtze Paraplatform (South China Block). Two of these (Daqing A and Hongshiya B components) yield paleopoles that conform to the Carboniferous to Triassic segment of the apparent polar w•der path for South China, and are therefore interpreted as remagnetizations. The third component (declination/inclination = 30!ø/+66...
متن کاملAn expanded record of Early Cambrian carbon cycling from the Anti-Atlas Margin, Morocco
We present a ,,13C record from the Anti-Atlas mountains of Morocco and place it in the context of a detailed regional tectonostratigraphy. We place the lithoand chemostratigraphic record in a temporal framework using precision U-Pb zircon geochronology of ashes interbedded with the same carbonate units that provide "l3C data. The variations in "l3C of carbonate occur on a wide range of time sca...
متن کاملgeochemical and mineralogical characteristics of serpentinite and carbonated serpentinite: case of magnesite (bou azzer inlier, central anti-atlas, morocco)
ultramafic rocks are essentially constituted by silicates of magnesium: forsterite, and/or diopside-enstatite; who’s the most common hydrothermal alteration are the serpentinization. to bou azzer, the serpentinisation affected almost all of the ultrabasic rocks. among the phenomena bound to the serpentinisation observed on the ground, we distinguish the magnesium deposits (carbonated serpentini...
