Orbitally degenerate spin-fluctuation model for heavy-fermion superconductivity.
Manuscript is plain TeX with macros. Figures start at FIGURES BEGIN HERE, with instructions on what to do to get them. In this paper, a generalization of standard spin fluctuation theory is considered by replacing the simple Hubbard interaction by the screened Hartree-Fock interaction for f electrons. This model is then used in both an LS and a JJ coupling scheme to construct the particle-parti...
متن کاملSuperconductivity in the Orbital Degenerate Model for Heavy Fermion Systems
Magnetism and superconductivity of new heavy fermion compounds CeTIn5 (T=Co, Rh and Ir) are investigated by applying fluctuation exchange approximation to an orbital degenerate Hubbard model. The superconducting phase with dx2−y2 -symmetry is found to appear next to the antiferromagnetic phase with increasing the orbital splitting energy. The present theory suggests that the orbital splitting e...
متن کاملSpin - fluctuation superconductivity in the Hubbard model
The theory of the superconductivity mediated by kinematic and exchange interactions in t?J and two-band Hubbard models in a paramagnetic state is formulated. The Dyson equations for the matrix Green functions in terms of the Hubbard operators are obtained in the non-crossing approximation. To calculate superconducting T c a numerical solution of self-consistent Eliashberg equations is proposed.
متن کاملSuperconductivity in Heavy Fermion Compounds
The heavy electron state in intermetallic lanthanide and actinide compounds has its origin in the interplay of strong Coulomb repulsion in the 4fand 5fshells and their hybridisation with conduction band states. Heavy quasiparticles have mostly been observed in Ceand U-based intermetallics which are therefore at the focus of this review. Ideally the ground state in these strongly correlated elec...
متن کاملCoexistence of spin-triplet superconductivity with magnetism within a single mechanism for orbitally degenerate correlated electrons: statistically consistent Gutzwiller approximation
An orbitally degenerate two-band Hubbard model is analyzed with the inclusion of the Hund’s rule-induced spin-triplet even-parity paired states and their coexistence with magnetic ordering. The so-called statistically consistent Gutzwiller approximation (SGA) has been applied to the case of a square lattice. The superconducting gaps, the magnetic moment and the free energy are analyzed as a fun...
