Oral Squamous Cells and Age Estimation in Exfoliative Cytology with Hematoxylin and Eosin Stain– A Quantitative Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: Exfoliative cytology in age estimation is a simple, painless, less invasive collection of exfoliative cells from epithelial layers, used as diagnostic aid for estimation. The oral cavity an ideal site with physiological turnover cells, decreases the increases show variation cellular morphological changes. Age one important factors to identify individual and also helps know chronological person.
Aim: To analyze estimate buccal smear comparing average size under Image morphometric analysis.
Materials Methods: Buccal mucosal smears are taken using wooden spatula gentle motion scraping smeared on clean glass slide fixed 95% ethanol immediately after smearing minimum around 15 minutes stained Haematoxylin eosin stain. After staining, were observed by microscope measured paint tool. Pearson correlation analysis was done SPSS software.
Results: cell nuclear difference values coefficient statistically significant p value<0.05 revealing that there shrinkage increase age.
Conclusion: successful vastly growing technology detection premalignant lesions.

Detection of Apoptosis in Leukoplakia and Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma using Methyl Green Pyronin and Hematoxylin and Eosin
Background & Objective: Cell population and turnover are controlled by a balance between cell proliferation and apoptosis. Detection of apoptosis in oral cancer contributes to its better prognosis and improved management. This study aimed to quantify apoptotic cells in leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) using methyl green-pyronin (MGP) and hematoxylin and eosin...
متن کاملQuantitative Risk Stratification of Oral Leukoplakia with Exfoliative Cytology
Exfoliative cytology has been widely used for early diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Test outcome is reported as "negative", "atypical" (defined as abnormal epithelial changes of uncertain diagnostic significance), and "positive" (defined as definitive cellular evidence of epithelial dysplasia or carcinoma). The major challenge is how to properly manage the "atypical" patients ...
متن کاملCytomorphometric Analysis of Oral Premalignant and Malignant Lesions Using Feulgen Stain and Exfoliative Brush Cytology
Objective: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the sixth most common cancer worldwide and accounting for 90% of cancers of oral cavity. Tobacco abuse has been proved to be the major risk factor in the development of OSCC. Despite advances in surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, the five year survival rate for oral cancer has not improved significantly over the past several decades and it rem...
متن کاملDemonstration and Comparison of Keratin Pearl and Individual Cell Keratin in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma using Modified Mallory’s Stain and Hematoxylin and Eosin
Oral squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most common oral malignant tumors comprising of 90-95 % of cases (Pindborg et al., 1990; Harrison et al., 1999). It is commonest malignancy in Indian sub continent (Pindborg et al., 1990; Parija, 1991). It is histologically graded as well, moderate and poorly differentiated tumor based on several factor (Neville et al., 2002’ Neville et al., 2002). One...
متن کاملComparison of Special Stains for Keratin with Routine Hematoxylin and Eosin Stain
BACKGROUND Keratins are the most abundant proteins and are characteristic findings in many epithelial pathologies, making it a diagnostically important marker, both histopathologically and immunohistochemically. Since, immunohistochemistry is an expensive diagnostic tool, special stains to detect the degree of keratinization could serve as a faster and economic option. The aim of the present st...
