ORAL PRESENTATION: Eagle Syndrome: The Forgotten Entity

Elongated styloid process or Eagle syndrome is a rare condition presenting with wide range of symptoms including throat pain, foreign body sensation, neck pain and ear pain. Establishing diagnosis requires high index suspicion understanding this entity by the physician. Computed tomography (CT) gold standard to diagnose syndrome. Conservative medical treatment analgesics, oral steroids anticonvulsants are offered in patients who refused surgery. The mainstay surgical resection via intraoral cervical approaches. We describe case bilateral 46-year-old female was presented chronic sensation but aggravated following fish bone ingestion. Flexible nasopharyngolaryngoscopy (FNPLS) x-ray did not reveal any patient treated conservatively. Incidentally, also revealed an elongated bilaterally. Upon follow-up, still symptomatic. Thus, CT scan contrast requested, which reported no body, presence suggesting Syndrome. subjected transoral endoscopic assisted styloidectomy tonsillectomy. There complete resolution postoperatively.
