Optomechanical quantum teleportation

Quantum teleportation, the faithful transfer of an unknown input state onto a remote quantum system, is key component in long distance communication protocols and distributed computing. At same time, high frequency nano-optomechanical systems hold great promise as nodes future network, operating on-chip at low-loss optical telecom wavelengths with mechanical lifetimes. Recent demonstrations include entanglement between two resonators, memory microwave to optics transduction. Despite these successes, teleportation long-lived optomechanical outstanding challenge. Here we demonstrate polarization-encoded joint pair nanomechanical resonators. Our protocol also allows for first time store retrieve arbitrary qubit dual-rail encoded memory. This work demonstrates full functionality single repeater node, presents milestone towards applications network nodes.
