چکیده
The appropriate operation of a water distribution network (WDN) any supply scheme is vital to sufficient potable consumers at pressure. However, the performance WDN may vary from original design in long run. In this study, model was built using WaterGEMS and WaterCAD computer simulators, hydraulic analyses were conducted obtain an optimal for community village Sri Lanka. A series steps such as; selection models, representation, simulation network, problem identification, configuration finalization, results analysis carried out developing model. parameters as pressure, flow velocity, rate analyzed under extended period simulation. result indicated that nodal pressure head junctions (100%) above required level 10 meters H2O, which adequate effective system (WDS) during peak off-peak demand hours. elevated tower optimized with m height satisfactory Nodal negatively correlated ground elevation. velocity observed within range 0.1-0.4 m/s 67% pipe while 17% below 0.1 m/s. low daily small could be reason low-velocity scenario, shall lead silt deposition pipelines; hence frequent line washout eliminate recommended. designed sizes availability market.

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Head-Driven Simulation of Water Supply Networks
Up to now most of the existing water supply network analyses have been based on demand-driven simulation models. These models assume that nodal outflows are fixed and are always available. However, this method of simulation neglects the pressure-dependent nature of demand that is characterized by changes in actual nodal outflows particularly during critical events like major mechanical or hydra...
متن کاملOptimizing Intermittent Water Supply in Urban Pipe Distribution Networks
In many urban areas of the developing world, piped water is supplied only intermittently, as valves direct water to different parts of the water distribution system at different times. The flow is transient, and may transition between free-surface and pressurized, resulting in complex dynamical features with important consequences for water suppliers and users. Here, we develop a computational ...

Background: Continuous expansion of potable water pollution sources is one of the main concerns of water suppliers, therefore measures such as water safety plan (WSP), have been taken into account to control these sources of pollution. The aim of this study was to identify probable risks and threatening hazards to drinking water quality in Lighvan village along with assessment of bank filtratio...
