Optimized Design of Piled Embankment Using a Multi-Effect Coupling Model on a Coastal Highway

This study presents a multi-effect coupling model to optimize the design of geosynthetic-reinforced pile-supported embankment (GRPSE) considering effects soil arching, membranes, and pile–soil interaction on coastal highway. The developed could GRPSE fulfill construction requirements at relatively low project cost. was achieved by adjusting critical factors that govern settlement GRPSEs, such as pile spacing, tensile stiffness geosynthetic reinforcement (GR), arrangement piles, cap size, cushion thickness. predictions were validated series field tests using range geotechnical sensors. results show agreed with experimental measurements reasonably well. In addition, indicate in comparison square triangle net can decrease differential soil. Furthermore, this demonstrates change GR’s has little impact GRPSEs. help improve stability roadbeds highways.
