Optimization of Re-Fracturing Method and Fracture Parameters for Horizontal Well in Mahu Conglomerate Oil Reservoir

Mahu Oilfield, the largest conglomerate oilfield around world, is facing severe problems of rapid production decline and low recovery ratio. Re-fracturing horizontal wells an effective method to improve this situation. The study well re-fracturing has increased popularity recently, but optimization parameters not been thoroughly investigated, especially for reservoir. optimal selection such as length conductivity unclear, which significantly influences treatment economic cost. In order fill gap, a series numerical models are established based on filed data predict after re-fracturing. primary hydraulic fractures calculated by net pressure matching imported into models. A conducted confirm reliability cumulative productions different stimulation methods, including lengthening old perforating new fractures, simulated, corresponding optimized. results have shown that smaller than designed, means necessary. Lengthening between clusters can increase production. On condition same fracture length, increasing ranges larger fractures. particularly suitable situation value in half-length 160 m.
