Optimization of Purification Technology and Antioxidant Activity of Total Flavonoids from Sea Buckthorn Leaves

China is rich in sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.)resources and a large amount of fruit used to extract oil andjuice every year. However, Sea Buckthorn Leaves (SBL), which are full offlavonoids, discarded as waste. To make use resources turn waste into valuables, theoptimal purification process flavonoids from SBL was studied theantioxidant activities Crude Flavonoids (CFSBL) Purified (PFSBL)were compared. The macroporous resin most suitablefor the CFSBL selected by comparing flavonoid content,adsorption rate, desorption recovery rate eluant. purificationprocess optimized single factor, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)and Response Surface Methodology (RSM). 1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl(DPPH), hydroxyl radical, reducing power methods were determine activity PFSBL, respectively. AB-8 forpurification optimal determined RSM combined with AHP: ethanol concentrationwas 82.93%, sample concentration elutionvelocity 0.09 1.71 mL/min, purity PFSBL 84.2%, 6.53 times higher than that before purificationand 69.5%. scavenging IC50 DPPH,hydroxyl 0.016, 1.501, 0.146mg/mL, 0.002, 1.131 0.051 mg/mL, Theantioxidant improved compared CFSBL. canbe considered potential source antioxidants food industry. Thepurification this study can enhance antioxidant SBL.

The objective of this study was to characterize the antioxidant properties of ethanol extracted from leaves of Jatropha curcas and to determinate the compounds.
