Optimization of investment casting process for K477 superalloy aero-engine turbine nozzle by simulation and experiment

In order to reduce the shrinkage porosity of nickel-based superalloy castings in investment casting process, effects different gating systems on mold filling, solidification and prediction aero-engine turbine nozzle were investigated by simulation experimental methods. Results show that design vertical runner would cause greater turbulence melt riser during filling outer is not necessary. With decrease number runners, hot spot moves down towards casting, defects are formed below riser. original designs, a certain tendency defect found vanes, inner rings, rings both experiment. Finally, based processing optimization, with no obtained.
