Some rotors are bent permanently due to high operating temperatures, repeated transition periods, and so on. Rotors with large deformations often require straightening processes. The goal of this study is develop a method determine the optimal locations strengths hammer peening for gas turbine rotors. A set parametric simulations were performed various dimensions straight locations. deformed geometries rotor from presented as curvature vectors. These vectors fitted using an empirical function. For given initial geometry plans, post-peening was predicted by superimposing newly induced curvature. An optimization statement defined strengths. Constraints imposed exclude areas where could not be such bearings. proposed provides plan runout data. validated against series test results simple shaft. developed can applied other types methods hot spotting.
