چکیده
This study developed a series of strategies to reassess the service level winter road maintenance (WRM) operations on network in Perth County, Ontario, Canada. These include rearranging plow routes by sharing material storage yards and optimizing their numbers locations while considering operational legislative constraints such as total circuit time, operating speeds, number available trucks. A methodological framework was then formulated solved tackling four practical, yet challenging, tasks sequential manner. The first task identify existing construct detailed GIS database that later used for benchmarking current WRM operations. second involved optimization routes, third focused depot amalgamating different municipalities within County. final conduct clean slate see benefits combining depots route sharing. models were implemented transform networks an optimized, integrated, unified with improved land use utilization yards. captured impact order arranged routing priority efficiently using tabu search algorithm. findings also revealed that, depots, county could retire three eight trucks still meeting requirements, thereby suggesting potential substantial monetary savings.

Optimization Models for a Real-World Snow Plow Routing Problem
In cold weather cities, snowstorms can have a significant disruptive effect on both mobility and safety, and consequently the faster that streets can be cleared the better. Yet in most cities, plans for snowplowing are developed using simple allocation schemes that while easy to implement can also be quite inefficient. In this paper we consider the problem of optimizing the routes of a fleet of...

متن کاملThe Multi-Depot Vehicle Routing Problem with Inter-Depot Routes
This article addresses an extension of the multi-depot vehicle routing problem in which vehicles may be replenished at intermediate depots along their route. It proposes a heuristic combining the adaptative memory principle, a tabu search method for the solution of subproblems, and integer programming. Tests are conducted on randomly generated instances.

Ark: A Real-World Consensus Implementation
Ark is an implementation of a consensus algorithm similar to Paxos[7] and Raft[11], designed as an improvement over the existing consensus algorithm used by MongoDB R © and TokuMX. Ark was designed from first principles, improving on the election algorithm used by TokuMX, to fix deficiencies in MongoDB’s consensus algorithms that can cause data loss. It ultimately has many similarities with Raf...
