Optimization and evaluation of a mobile IMU-based ballistocardiography system

Abstract In recent decades ballistocardiography (BCG) has regained popularity as a way to measure the mechanical activ- ity of heart. this paper we present and evaluate new iteration our mobile BCG measurement system. The pro- posed system uses an inertial unit (IMU) placed on carotid artery derive BCG. We conducted mea- surement series do initial in- vestigation into whether more complex heart parameters can be derived from data. evaluation shows that rate (HR) variability (HRV) calculated using data, agrees well with reference amplitudes are mostly comparable in range other papers. conclusion, reliably features data used further research.
