Optimal Sizing of a Centralized Hybrid Photovoltaic System for Efficient Operation of Street Lights

The photovoltaic energy generation system is one of the most promising technology to meet our future electricity demand as well mitigate climate change. This study aims design, simulate and evaluate performance hybrid (PV) using PVsyst software supply for efficient streetlights in educational institute. Meteonorm database daily monthly irradiation, temperatures, precipitation sunlight hours are utilized while performing analysis. consists 56 bifacial-polycrystalline 360-watt PV modules having 17.9% efficiency. were installed at 0° azimuth angle 15° tilt angle. Two inverters with rated capacity 10 kW used. storage 16 batteries (2 series x 8 parallel) a nominal 1600 ampere-hours discharging minimum SOC 20 %. A total 100 streetlight poles working-hours/day cover both sides road, consumption 672 kilowatt-hours. average annual ambient temperature 23.66℃, GH irradiation 1693 kilowatt-hour/m2. production 25.96 MWh/year, specific 1288 kWh/kWp/year 70.38% ratio. By means proposed street lightning structure, 157.9t CO2 reduced. project can save 0.004737 million tonnes emissions over its lifetime 30 years. viable solution public lighting right selection components.
