Optimal Shape of Non-Linear Partially Wet Annular Fins for Maximum Efficiency

Heat exchangers with annular finned-tube type and partially wetted condition are utilized widely in engineering systems, such as air-conditioning systems refrigeration systems. In addition, the physical properties of fin materials should be considered functions temperature reality thus become a non-linear problem. Based on above two conditions, an optimal wet design problem, temperature-dependent thermal fin, to yield efficiency was investigated present work, which has not been examined previously it is novelty this study. An iterative regularization algorithm using conjugate gradient method (CGM) optimization tool based desired under fixed volume constraint. The can result if relative humidity surrounding air between 80 90%. Finally, shape, highest computed among fins identical operational obtained. It found that when Biot numbers for ambient (Bia) (?) increased, optimum interfacial radius dry domains (rwd) will estimated shape also changed. However, remained approximately unchanged inner tube (Bii), conductivities (kw) (kf) varied. reveals Bii, kw kf have insignificant influence condition.
