Optimal PMU Placement Technique to Maximize Measurement Redundancy Based on Closed Neighbourhood Search

This paper proposes a method for the optimal placement of phasor measurement units (PMUs) complete observability power system based on degree neighbourhood vertices. A three-stage algorithm is used to determine minimum number PMUs needed make observable. The key objective proposed methodology minimize total completely observe network and thereby installation cost. In addition, technique also focuses improving redundancy. applied standard IEEE 14-bus, 24-bus, 30-bus, 57-bus 118-bus test systems hybrid AC/DC microgrid system. results obtained are compared with already existing methods in terms Bus Observability Index (BOI) System Redundancy (SORI). show that simple implement provides better locations effective monitoring other methods.
